Comexim Ingrid Reviewed
Comexim is a brand I’ve yet to really discuss, but believe me, it’s not for lack of interest. I’ve been struggling to find lined bras that work for me, but I had a feeling that if I could just pin down my size with Comexim, their plunge shape could easily be my go-to lined bra. I’ve tried a few bras from Comexim already in an assortment of sizes, but hadn’t really found success due to my changing size. I seem to have settled (for now. Could you just calm down, boobs?) at approximately a 28F, and decided it was time to give Comexim another whirl.
Meet Ingrid. We’re really, really good buddies. Size 60G.
So I’ll start by discussing how I picked my Comexim size. As I said, I’m generally wearing a UK 28F at the moment, so I went with a direct size conversion. While UK sizing includes double letters (like DD, FF, GG, etc), Comexim’s size system does not. I find the simplest way to determine my cup size is to count how many letters it takes to get to my cup size, regardless of size system. A UK F cup is 7 cup sizes into the “cup size alphabet”

And in my Comexim size, I also wear a size that’s 7 sizes into the “cup size alphabet”

This direct conversion ended up working for me, but it won’t necessarily work for everyone. Some factors to think about are: How full is your shape? How narrow or wide is your shape? How much coverage do you like? If you are quite full, not especially narrow and prefer a fuller coverage you may need to size up in the cup. I’m narrow, not especially full, and am okay with moderate coverage, so my regular cup size worked like a charm. I’ve also heard that it’s more common to need to size up in larger cup sizes than I wear.
The cups are more open on top than a typical plunge bra.
Comexim also offers customizations like reduced cup height and gore height. I found when I was between an FF and G, a 60HH with reduced cup and gore height was a great fit. I didn’t need the added height of a larger size, mostly just the added depth. A 60H without customizations may have also worked, but I did not have the chance to test that before my size changed unfortunately. The cup customizations add a new level of precision to finding the fit that you most prefer, but also add a level of complication that newbies may want to leave alone until they’re more confident in what shapes, sizes and styles they prefer.
The cups are, as you may have expected, narrow and deep. I find that the wires, when compared with Ewa Michalak and Avocado, are the narrowest of the bunch. And when compared with the average British brand, they are a breath of fresh air for someone of small stature like me. In all the styles that I’ve tried (Jasmine, Paradise, Vivian and Ingrid) the wires and cups have been consistent, but the band has felt different in a couple of the styles. Jasmine had a loose band for instance, and Vivian’s was stiffer than the other offerings I tried.
This band is an A+ on me. Just as firm as it needs to be.
I kept my regular band size of 28 (60 in Comexim’s size chart) and it fits like any other 28 band- firm enough to remain in place without feeling constricting. Some of Comexim’s styles are said to run very firm, and as I mentioned before, I found the Jasmine to run loose. This means that your band size with Comexim may need to be evaluated on a case by case basis. Ingrid however, happily runs true to size. You can always email Comexim and ask if a particular styles runs firm or loose. Despite the language barrier (Comexim being a Polish company), I haven’t run into many communication issues.

The gore only gently tacks to me, but doesn’t cause me any issues or discomfort. In fact, I barely feel this bra when I wear it so it’s become my go-to comfy-yet-sturdy bra!
Now Ingrid is kind of similar to the Lato bra that Ewa Michalak came out with a few seasons ago…

I pined for the Lato, longed for the Lato, but I sadly missed out on the Lato. While Ingrid lacks the pops of blue that made the Lato quite special, it has a quiet sophistication that its bolder counterpart didn’t. I went so far as to describe Ingrid’s pattern as ‘divine’ in the presence of my S.O, to which he told me a story about his childhood. He was at a family friend’s house that had similar looking floral wallpaper, in which he experienced possibly the most noteworthy boredom of his childhood (as well as tried some gross foods), so that’s what he associates with my bra. Excellent.
So apparently this pattern isn’t for everyone, but it is definitely, 100% for me. It even manages to pass decently as a flesh tone bra on me, though the floral pattern will make an appearance if the shirt I pair it with is too light and/or thin. Comexim’s plunge shape has really come through for me and I’m sure over the next few months there will be a drastic increase in the number of lined bras in my lingerie drawer (not to mention an increase of pretty patterns!). I currently have my eye on:

So great to see you doing a review of a Comexim bra! I’m planning to buy the Comexim Basic because I have no beige bras (and my skin tone is more or less beige, pale beige) and I’ve already e-mailed Comexim (with translation plus English) about it. I haven’t completed the purchase though because at the time I was just discussing it, I didn’t have the money at hand. I asked them if they would be willing to sew me a bra with 3 hooks in the back instead of 2 and they said that it would be absolutely fine, so I’d just like to throw that out there, maybe you can add it to your review? 🙂 I’ve heard other people requesting this several times too and none have received a “no”. 3 hook bands is something a lot of women would like and Comexim is happy to comply! 🙂
I have a question about the 3 hooks. Does it affect the tightness of the band at all or the height of the band? Thanks so much!
Hey there! The Ingrid has three sets of hooks to adjust tightness, but only two hooks height-wise (which is pretty standard for bras in this size). However, if you are talking about hooks-and-eyes in a more general sense, some people find that they can wear their bra bands looser if they have more hooks-and-eyes height-wise (for example, a Freya Longline bra generally has a pretty stretchy band, but since they also have 6 hooks-and-eyes height-wise, I find I can wear them even though they’re loose).

I’ve had my eye on Comexim for some time but just can’t figure out what my size would be. It’s actually driving me a bit insane – much like trying to figure out my EM size. I suspect things will be easier with Comexim as they don’t discontinue styles so quickly. I really am lusting over Comexim’s Tropical Garden bra… Postage cost is really my main concern. That bra looks fabulous on you 🙂 and your SO’s wallpaper story cracked me up!
I love Comexium, I’ve actually been waiting for a while for you to review it because we are a very similar shape. But with the padded plunge, everything is perfect but the straps were sooo thin. I wore it for four hours in a 30 back (I measure 29 inches around) and… my poor shoulders. Do you notice any difference compared to your other brand’s straps? 🙂
@Burn The Minimisers: I, too, had the too-thin strap problem. I polled some other women who wear Comexim and the consensus was that my straps were a fluke, since everyone else had normal 2cm straps (mine are 1.3!). It makes wearing my Nadine (in 65HH/30G UK) less than enjoyable, but it gives great lift and shape. I’d advise to anyone else getting it that it’s very stretchy, so you might consider going down in the band.
I also have a 65HH Emma, and the straps on that are 1.5cm, though I’m not sure if that’s standard.
Hey Nicole and Windie mine’s a 65HH too! It’s the Freetime. I tried it on in 4 sizes (HH, J, K, L) and they all were equally thin. I just measured mine and they are 1.5 cm (excluding the little trim bit on the side). If I get another plunge I will size down to the 60J. Looks like I’ll have to do some strap surgery on my Freetime!
I actually don’t! I bet it varies from model to model. Which bra do you have? My Ingrid’s straps are approximately as thin as my 3D Burek (to be reviewed soon!) and Andorra.
Huh, so maybe they don’t make the straps thicker in the upper sizes? I find they suit me fine at my size, but I’m at the smaller end of full busted. Weird that they would be the same into higher cup sizes.
Though on the other models I tried (Paradise and Jasmine especially) the straps were definitely thicker, so I guess some models have thin straps and other have thick.
Dear Windie, would you recommend sizing up with the lower cup height?
I’m wavering between ordering 65L or 65M. I have a normal 65L Juliette that fits well, only the gore doesn’t tack perfectly (and the cups are a bit too tall).
It’s difficult to say. If the 65L is already a bit too tall and the depth is good, a size up with reduced cup height may be too large all around even if the cups are an okay height. How attached to the gore height are you? If you got reduced gore and cup height, it might work (the reduced gore takes away from of the depth in my experience).
Maybe try messaging Weirdly Shaped and Well Photographed? She loves Comexim and is nearer to your size range I think 🙂 She may have better advice!
Hello Windie, how would you compare the cup size of the Ingrid to your beige Kyoto? I have a Kyoto in 60F that fits really well and am trying to decide what size I should try in Comexim. Thanks!
Hey there! I would have needed a 60F in the Kyoto as well, my 60G is too large for me. My 60G Ingrid however is awesome, so I have a feeling a 60G int he Ingrid would also work for you 🙂

Wow. I’m blown away at how stunning Ingrid looks on you with your coloring.
Ingrid looks more “expensive” like it’s from a higher end european line like Huit. That’s amazing considering it is so hard to find truly pretty and aesthetically pleasing looking bras in many sizes!

Hi! I actually don’t know to be honest! But when I wrote this review of the Ingrid I wore a 65E very consistently in Ewa Michalak, so I would have been sized out of the S. Hope that helps!
